Good morning! Just wanted to pass along this article that I came across today. It talks about the struggle and unbelievable accomplishment that Kobe Bryant did this year: win a championship with Luke Walton on his squad. Just read it, you'll laugh:

Shaq for Cuyahoga County Deputy Sheriff
Maaaaan, what a week it has been! I haven't taken the time to blog about it, but it feels like I blinked and it was over! Actually I guess the week went by kind of slow, but this weekend was fantastic! Started out Friday night celebrating Grego's birthday by going to the Indians game. Good times with good friends, and Champ didn't pay for the tickets this time so I won't have to hear about it for the next two years! We sat about 10 rows up behind home plate, they won, and it was a fireworks night which is always a bonus.
Saturday morning I got up early to help Ben FINALLY put up the repaired mast on the sailboat. Then, I played in a cornhole tournament all afternoon with Rooney. THEN, I went swimming and got burnt. THEN, we went out on the boat for the night, went swimming in the lake, and went to bed by midnight. All amazing, I just know that noone besides those involved really wants to read all the details, haha. The weekend in pictures:

And the biggest news of the week, SHAQUILLE O'NEAL IS A CAVALIER!!! And so is that guy we drafted in the first round, and so is Danny Green. I love this trade more and more every day, and I really do think that it could be a key addition (a big wing man is the other missing piece). Some people are saying that he is going to clog the lane and LeBron won't be able to drive as much as he has. First of all, that is impossible based on history... He has won multiple championships with Kobe and Dwyane (I LOVE that spell check says I spelled his name wrong), and in each of those situations it was a non-factor. Secondly, LeBron won't need to drive nearly as much as he has because for the first time in his career he has a legitimate big man on his squad. It will be an adjustment to work through the post, but think about how many more scoring chances it will create for LeBron if he can move away from the ball. I'm getting excited just talking about it!!
So the next question is who do we add in free agency? The Cavs are in a pretty good situation, but I just want to make sure that we don't hurt ourselves by trying to overcorrect our playoff meltdown. We were still a team that won 60+ games last year, and we had chemistry that I have never seen before on a Cleveland sports team. So I really do think a key is resigning Varejao and Smith, but you cannot do it at the cost of other, potentially better players. Top prospects in my mind would be anyone who can fill that outside wing shooting position, but still be able to defend bigger perimeter players. This includes Matt Barnes (yeah Greg, I agree), Anthony Parker, and Charlie Villanueva. You let me know your opinion too, take my poll!!
Found this video of Shaq today and I think the best part about it is he is singing Akon. The Cavs' draft pick looks like Akon. So I thought it would be appropriate, and is just another reason why I can't wait for the antics and total domination from the Cavs this season!!!

What a weekend
It's Monday again, and as everyone goes back to their normal 9-5 jobs, I find myself not starting until 12 today. So I figured it is the perfect opportunity to catch up on everything in life including my blog. This weekend I basically lived the life of a 10 year old, and I can't say that it was all bad. In fact it was one of the most relaxing that I can remember since I started this whole adulthood thing. Friday night I went to a friend's house, and ended up pretty much just hanging out with a puppy instead of people.

Then, I woke up way too early Saturday morning and went for a bike ride all around Lakewood. We went to Lakewood park to take in the view of downtown, and watched an old-timers baseball game where they all dressed like they were from the turn of the century.

Then, we went to the Clifton Arts Festival and basically went people watching. Luckily we ran into some overweight belling dancing gypsies so I can say that it was well worth the trip. Finally, we came back to the house, grilled out, and played four-square all night.

Like I said... 10-year old again. But it was so simple and fun, I really think that I need to get back to times like that. When there was no drama, or pressure about careers or the future. Just riding my bike, getting a sunburn, without a care in the world.
Songs that start the day off right:

Let's have fun
Alright everyone, I think I may have figured out the key to happiness: cocaine. But for now I don't have the money to support the habit, so I have been trying to figure out what else can take it's place in the meantime. I really think the best thing to do in life is have fun and laugh. It might sound elementary, but how many people do you know that don't go through life enjoying whatever they are doing. They (we) don't want to go to work, they don't want to do chores, they don't want to go to family outings, etc,. But I can guarantee that any situation in life can be improved if you realize that you don't have a choice and you might as well enjoy it. That is why I loved my job for so long. Not because it's the most glamorous or best paying job, but because I truly enjoyed being there and the people that I worked with. We laughed constantly, and the days would go by without a thought. Now that the fun is gone, everyone dreads coming to work and is unhappy. Which in turn makes everyone else including the customers unhappy, and we lose money. So it's simple, and yes this is gonna sound like a girl's AIM icon from 1998. Live laugh love, life really is too short.
Random, but took this picture last week with my daughter and I thought I would share. No, I don't have a daughter. It's my friend's niece, but she sure is cute; too short for my taste though.

And to bring the post full circle, a little hope for my happy future...
and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep clicking on my ads. I swear when I make enough money it will all go to drinks for you. Not trying to take your money, just 30 seconds of your time. Thanks!!!

Nothing too exciting to say right now, just another 10-hour work day at a job that doesn't excite me. Is this the American dream that immigrants spent weeks on boats dreaming of? That's a whole lot of disappointed people. I'm grateful to be employed, but I really wish it could be at a job that I enjoy. Anyways, here's a crazy video and a few more songs... and if you enjoy my blog, help me out and click on an add or two. There are no viruses, they just take you to sponsors' sites and it gives me a quarter or something. Thanks!!
Figured it couldn't hurt to add some more new songs:

That's Slife...
My goal the entire time that I have had a blog was to keep it impersonal. Since it started during Cavs' season it was obviously easy to keep off of me and stick to the NBA. But now that it's the offseason and only boring baseball is going on, it makes me realize that there is really nothing else to talk about. I had a blast tonight at karaoke with great friends, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Well, except maybe some Mariah "Always be my Baby," but I'll take what I can get.
Figured since I don't have basketball to talk about (besides Shaq coming, which I support), I might as well post some songs that I have been on in the last week. Yes, I play them to death. And yes, I love every second. This week is rap, next week might be bluegrass; but don't count on it.
And Puhleeeeeease click on my ads, thanks!!

Life's a whirlwind
That's really the only way to describe it over the past month. Sleep has taken a back seat to memories, and I don't regret that decision for a second (actually, I do... every second that I am falling asleep at work and wishing I had slept longer). I have met great new friends, got back in touch with some long lost ones, and had a blast with almost everyone that I consider a best friend in my life. There are almost no certainties in my life right now. I don't know what job I will have in the near future. If I do stay with Finish Line, there is a good chance that I'll be moving away before the summer is over. But I have realized that it is the people in your life that make it worth living, not the money or location or possessions. Because if you have those, but no one to share them with, then what is the point at all? So for now I'm gonna keep laughing and spending as much time as possible with the people who mean the most to me.
This weekend a few friends from college came up to Cleveland, and a blurry 48 hours later it's over. But I did manage to get a (very) few pictures. Thanks everyone that I saw for a kick ass weekend, next weekend is in Cincy with France Man. If anyone else took pics let me know, and I will post them too.

The first one obviously wasn't from the weekend, but I figured everyone involved would appreciated reliving the glorious days of high school lumberjacking. Chyea!

The Lesser of Two Evils
Fine, I'll say it. For these two weeks of my life, I have been and will be a Lakers fan. Why? 1. Because I hate Dwight Howard 2. Because I hate Hedo Turkolu. 3. Because I hate Michael Pietrus. 4. Because I hate Dwight Howard. I think that's enough reasons, and also because Kobe is the best player in the NBA. Check out this new Lil' Weezy track about it, and you'll agree...
