Livin' la vida retail

Yes, it is 11 AM on a Friday morning. Yes, I am writing an entry in the blog that will someday be touted as the greatest literary masterpiece ever written by someone on this computer. But NO, I'm not writing at work. In the fast-paced, action-packed retail environment in which I am currently living it is apparently normal to have Tuesday and Friday off, but then work 3 full weekends in a row. End rant.

In an effort to diversify my readership (is that a word?), I wanted to talk about something today that didn't involve the NBA. So I thought long and hard about all the topics I wanted to discuss, and came to a simple yet riveting conclusion. The reason I'm always talking NBA is because it is easily the most entertaining professional sport in this country. Footnotes: I added "professional" for Marc Young and his ludicrous belief that college basketball is better because they try. Yeah yeah yeah, I know Syracuse won a six-overtime game against UConn, but there are always exceptions to rules that I make that aren't really rules just how I'm feeling at the time.

So about that NBA, and my thought that Mo Williams should be the MVP... I rescind my previous statement. I am now campaigning for a co-MVP trophy to be awarded, just like they gave to the butt-touching Kobe and Shaq in this year's All-Star Game. Take last night for example: LeBron records his third triple-double in a row, has two unbelievable blocks, and hits clutch shots down the stretch. Mo hits 3 treys in the first quarter, tons of clutch shots, and is in my opinion the clear playmaker (hence his PG position). Some have said it is a Batman/Robin situation, but I think it's more like Laverne and Shirley... only replace them with big black men who are millionaires and don't listen to the beach boys and grease their hair. Not only are they a tandem, but they cannot successfully exist without each other. They fit like jigsaw pieces, and when you don't have one, the puzzle is not complete. So that ends the argument in my mind, it's gonna have to be co-MVPs or bust.

LeBron's block on J-Rich last night:

Drastically switching gears, watch this interview on Letterman with Joaquin Phoenix. I saw it when it first aired, but rediscovered it recently and it's hard to look away. A train wreck, just like Wally Sczerbiak's career.

I like the jigsaw puzzle bit for describing Mo and LeBron. I can't wait until the playoffs and see what these two are really made of together.

Start rant. It's Wally's World! And you are all just living in it. I want to point out that Wally's career is not a train wreck, in fact, without him last night, I think the Cavs lose. He made 2 huge 3's during stretches where we could not buy a bucket. Also, the team's point differential while he was in the game was +15.... as opposed to someone else (cough cough), named Daniel Gibson who was a lousy -5.

Right now, I would rather have Wally in the game than Boobie. Boobie has been absolutely terrible this year... but deep down I still know he could go off for 7 3's in a huge playoff game... so he's got to continue playing. End rant.

On a side note, I am going to see Slumdog Millionaire tonight. Any movie reviews?

Just because Wally is having a better year than Boobie, doesn't mean that Wally is good by any means. You even said that Boobie is having a terrible year. That's like me saying I am good at math, b/c I scored higher than a retard on math test. Who cares if he is playing better than boobie, that doesn't justify him getting playing time. (Sasha is playing better than both, and he can defend better)
Also, those plus/minus stats are bogus. According to your theory, Sasha was the best player last night with a +14 - better than Lebron and better than Mo.
Against the Clippers Gibson was the best on the team with +14(the same player we both think is terrible this year). That same game Wally was minus 3.
The plus minus stat is all about matchups, and what players you are playing with at the time. It does not show who the best player is. The last time Lebron had the best plus/minus stat outright was Feb. 22nd against Detroit - 11 games ago. Obviously, Lebron has been our best player in at least one of those other games.

OK- that's like saying it's not justified that you get the math teacher job over the retard you got a better score than on your math test.

I agree Sasha should be getting more of those minutes, if not Tarence Kinsey. Coach should give Boobie a minor opportunity each game, because you know Boobie can light it up on any given night. As soon as he screws up, take him out.

I was more less joking around about the +/- stats. I was just trying to stick for Wally because I do think he is an integral part of our success this year.
