Before I get into what I was thinking about this morning, I wanted to address the chain email that some of you may have gotten from some hairy Frenchie with cigarette breath. I was mentioned in it, so I feel obligated to respond to the comment made. So this time it's not even that I want to talk about basketball, I am being forced to defend myself. Division 1 college basketball players don't play with anymore pride than professional ballers (baalllin'). Actually, I think the bigger point is that pros don't play with any less than D-1 players. The top 12 ranked teams in the tourney this year made it to the Sweet 16. Obviously all these teams are is a farm system for the NBA, and they are all playing for something much different than pride. They are playing for lottery picks, for their careers, for the potential of future money. Is that any different than NBA players who already have contracts and are now trying to accomplish the title of best basketball players in the world?

I guess your argument has a point if you are talking about schools where players are simply there for the love of the sport, like the Ohio Athletic Conference, aww jackets. I can see that those teams play for the pride, because there is nothing in it for them besides enjoying the sport. But the teams that remain in the tourney right now are all just trying to earn one more opportunity to impress scouts. I guarantee you that any of the stars would take a huge outing, where they make the buzzer beater and pull down a triple double, and then go out the next round over winning the whole tourney. (That's prob not true, and even I realize that, but I was too lazy to delete it).

All of that being said, I am extremely excited for this weekend's worth of matchups. Considering that all of the teams are of the highest (amateur) caliber, it should at least make for some good games. Speaking of good games... how about the Cavs last night? Another win, another dominant performance from our in house MVP, and this pass:

And if you needed more proof that the NBA is more fun to watch, you should have seen the Magic win over the Celtics. Dwight Howard is a beast, what more needs to be said?

Now, on to the original topic that I was going to post today. A while back I posted a music video of an Atmosphere song that can put me in a better mood no matter what the situation is. There are plenty of songs like that, so I figured there is no point is hoarding them all. So here are a few more that make any rainy day like today just a little bit better. Feel free to post other songs that do the same for you in the comments section, I'm always looking for new ones...

Counting Crows -- St. Robinson in His Cadillac Dreams

Incubus -- Aqueous Transmission

Kings of Leon -- Fans (yes Colin, Kings of effin Leon. You win.)

John Butler Trio -- Better Than

And good news, Wally is still riding the pine. Wahoo!

Let's see...who would i rather watch? The likes of Lebron, D-wade, Kobe, Dwight. Or all the scrubs in the NCAA - where maybe one or two of the players in all of college could hope to get to that level. Division 1 college is the same as minor league baseball, with better fans, and a better playoff system. Just a feeder system for the pros...
