I don't know that I have ever appreciated spring more that I have this year. Even though officially it is not here yet, I am really just referring to sunshine and warmer weather. I really do feel like the only two seasons that exist in my mind are winter and summer. Winter is the depressing, frustrating, dark, boring half of the year. Summer is the fun, warm, happy, exciting half. Spring and fall are simply just transitions between the two. So right now it isn't spring to me, it's more like the first few minutes of summer and I am loving it. This week was the first time that I played basketball outside and had a BBQ, and I can't wait til the next time. It really is the little things in life that make the most difference.
Now, on to basketball:
You probably think I'm gonna talk about the Cavs beating Orlando and taking first place in the league. Or the fact that today marks the REAL start of March Madness (sorry Morehead State). But you're wrong. I'm hear to talk Charlotte Bobcats. So maybe they aren't the most successful team in the NBA at 30-38, but they are coming off two huge wins against other sub .500 teams (Raptors and Kings). But I really think it all starts with ownership, and the Cats shine in that department. They not only have the greatest basketball player of all time in Michael Jordan, but they also brought on a man who has had more just as much success in his own industry: Nelly. The only difference between the two is that noone respects Nelly, but that's another discussion. All I'm sayin is that I think Charlotte deserves more face time in the NBA world. Kobe's alright, Dwyane constantly gets to the line without ever being touched, but how many times just Gerald Wallace get thrown into the MVP race? He's picked up the slack nicely since their premier inside man, Sean May, went a packin' to the West Coast. Pay attention, they're going places folks.
"What's up, Ryan?"

I respect Nelly and his Air Force Ones. What ever happened to the St. Lunatics? They were sweet.
I do agree on your comments about Charlotte. They are coming around, especially because of Wallace and Raymond Felton, who hails from this coming year's NCAA Championship university. Throwing Wallace into the MVP talk... not so much. There are just so many other superior candidates that have done far much more, and Wallace doesn't really play excellent defense.
I want opinions on LeBron. First team all NBA, first team all-defense, and MVP? There is no doubt in my mind he should win all 3. He has stepped up his game to a totally different level this year. I hope he doesn't get screwed out of the MVP especially... again.
The Schammi says, "LeBron should win all three." And I agree, Wallace isn't really in the MVP talks, I just feel obligated to make statements that get people to respond.
Like for instance, the fact that I picked against Purdue. Sorry Champ, looks like I should have just stayed loyal. Or that I have Gonzaga over UNC. And if asked to pick a score of that game, I'd say 100-2. Why? Cause Hansbrough would complain so much that the refs would just give him a basket.
And all of my comments about Wally being a stiff, but I do stand by those. I think they get people so fired up because everyone so desperately wants to see a good white NBA player again. Or that they can barely remember how awesome Mark Price was after 15 years, so they need to find a new white guy to be in love with. But let's face it, Wally is just another Cherokee Parkes. Average at best, and still awkward as an elephant trying to ride a bike.
Back to the Madness and Cavs...
Should have picked Purdue Dave
